Gabriel Karenhoton Maracle, M.A., PhD (Cand.)First Nation, Researcher

Gabriel Karenhoton Maracle was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario and is an enrolled member of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte. He is currently working on his PhD at Trent in the Chanie Wenjack School for Indigenous Studies. His project, tentatively titled “Supporting the Good Mind and the Healing Journey: An Inquiry into Indigenous Healing Service Delivery” focuses on the programs and services that support Indigenous men’s healing journey after they have left prison.


He has been involved in research projects that have focused on: Black and Indigenous alliances, the KAIROS Canada and the KARIOS blanket exercise, using Indigenous Knowledge in math curriculum, and the development and evolution of urban Indigenous governance.

He is a researcher/policy analyst for Williams Consulting on contracts they undertake.
